Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been ruled out for a fortnight after suffering a mild concussion in training ahead of the Red Devils match with the MLS All-Stars.

Although medical staff saw no signs of damage, United boss Alex Ferguson has decided to keep the youngster on the sidelines for the next two weeks although he will continue to train with the squad.

“He got concussion in training and we dealt with that,” said Ferguson. “We took him to hospital, he had a scan, it was all clear.

“He is back in the hotel. He is in his room and will be out for a couple of weeks”.

Ferguson’s verdict is likely to miss the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 7th however he could be back for United’s first match of the Premier League season at West Brom.

Hernandez’s absence is likely to open the door for Dimitar Berbatov who despite being the league’s top scorer last season, was replaced by the little Mexican in United’s line-up and missed out on a number of big games towards the end of the season. Those looking at the Betfair betting will have seen the impact he can have.

Berbatov stared in the 4-0 victory against the All Stars, scoring once and setting up another as Ferguson’s side cruised to victory. Amongst the All stars line-up was former United star David Beckham but even he was powerless to stop his former side collect their fourth straight victory n their five match tour of the states.
