City new-boy wants the title

There is no doubting Manchester City are going to be genuine Premier League title contenders this season, and their new star man is gunning for the top prize in his debut season.

City spent £35 million to bring Argentine striker Sergio Aguero to the Etihad Stadium during the summer and he proved his class with a devastating cameo on his debut. Those looking at the football odds would have been very impressed.

Aguero has not stopped playing all summer due to the Copa America so City fans had been forced to wait to see him in sky blue for the first time.

And it was worth the wait as he came on after 57 minutes of the game with Swansea and proceeded to rip the Premier League newcomers apart with two goals and one assist.

The addition of Aguero could be the spark which turns City from dreamers into real Premier League title contenders and he wants to help his new side beat their arch-rivals Manchester United to win the big prize. The football predictions indicate this could happen.

He claims he wants to keep this debut form going throughout the season and sees City as a team that are “growing and developing” into a top side.

“This is a chance for me to change the league,” said Aguero. “This is a team with a lot of quality. I know it’s a competitive league but we’re here to win it in the end.”

City striker Edin Dzeko has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of play with Aguero, but the Bosnian will have to fight for a place in Roberto Mancini’s star-studded side.

With Carlos Tevez looking likely to stay and Mario Balotelli awaiting in the wings, City boast a huge amount of attacking wealth which is capable of winning them the Premier League title.
