Celebrity Today Movie Report - 12/21/2009
With only one major movie in release this past weekend, it is that movie that managed to top the box office. James Cameron’s Avatar was finally released, and it was able to bring in $73 million in its first weekend with $27 million of that coming in just on the first day of its release.
Things might be slowing down as far as retail releases til after the end of the year, but we have a number of new movie releases. Alvin & The Chipmunks return with the Chippettes and their sequel, and we also have Sherlock Holmes and the expansion of Nine to a more wider release after a limited release this weekend. As for retail releases, we have District 9, 500 Days of Summer and new music from Mary J. Blige. You can check out a full list of new releases below.
