The Mac rumor today is that Apple might introduce a new Mac Mini at Macworld in January. I found the story here on
Wired.com. Supposedly, the new version will have a faster processor, more RAM, a decently sized hard drive, be cheaper ($500 or $700), and be very environmentally friendly. Also, and possibly most significantly (in my mind), the higher end version will have a real, dedicated graphics card, although the lower end ($500) version will still have integrated graphics.
I think it's a good thing for Apple to update the mini. As their cheapest computer, it's a good price for an entry into the Macintosh world, but I've never been able to recommend one before. It's easy to recommend a $500 computer, but hard to convince people to like Mac if their first impression is a crippled computer. So, updates are good. We'll see what happens in January!
